noma restaurant, Copenhagen

Head chef and founder of noma, René Redzepi, commissioned Studio David Thulstrup to design a home for noma and series of furniture pieces. David worked with Brdr. Krüger to create a new furniture collection to complement the spirit of noma space. ARV collection by Brdr. Krüger are used in the space.

For chef and co-owner René Redzepi the most important consideration was to have a sense of place and for everything to feel handmade. The overall mood is Scandinavian without any Nordic cliches, honest, simple, and not over-designed.

Ikoyi, London

Ikoyi, with two Michelin stars, is serving a menu based on seasonal British produce and spices from sub-Saharan west Africa inside a brutalist building in central London. The 150-square-metre restaurant is designed by Danish architect David Thulstrup, who drew on spice-making processes when designing the interior.

Banquettes and dining chairs from the ‘Font’ collection are lined with ginger-coloured leather and combined with a steel mesh ceiling, copper wall panels and stone flooring in Ikoyi’s main dining room.

Sticks ‘n Sushi, Istedgade

After 17 years Sticks’n’Sushi Istedgade has undergone a renovation to enhance the restaurant’s interior. With a brand new cocktail bar at its centre, Studio Emily Broom has created a raw yet refined interior for the restaurant in the vibrant neighborhood of Vesterbro, Copenhagen. For seating, Emily chose pieces from the Font collection. At first, the seating would only include the dining chairs and bar stools, but after a visit to our showroom, the CEO of Sticks’n’sushi insisted on including Font bar sofas as well. The choice of grey Sørensen leather upholstery and polished steel for the frame fits perfectly into the tone and rawness of the project.
